About Course

Join the Code Force and become a coding superhero! Together we will embark on an amazing adventure where we learn how to code using fun and interactive games, and explore the amazing worlds of AI, cybersecurity and much more.

This course is for young people, aged 10 to 16 years old, who are excited to discover the world of coding and computer science.

Each lecture in the course is made up of two parts:

  • Learning, where learners get introduced to the lecture's topic and gain understanding of it.
  • Application, where learners get the chance to work together to apply the concepts learned during the lecture.

The learning materials, such as slides and documents, will be in English. Computer science technical terms will also be taught in English, but discussions and communication with the learners will be in both English and Arabic.

The course is split into three phases, each of which is one month long.

Phase One: Essentials

In this phase, we will cover the fundamentals of computer hardware and software.

Phase Two: Programming

In this phase, we'll start applying what we learned to create real-life programs and mobile applications.

Phase Three: Quest

In this phase, learners will be introduced to four trending fields in computer science, which are:

  • Web development using HTML and CSS
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Science

After Completing This Course You Will Be Able To

  • Understand computer hardware components and how they come together to make the computer we use today.
  • Understand computer software, programming logic, and how to create computer programs using no-code platforms such as Scratch and Blockly.
  • Have a decent background on a variety of topics, such as Python programming language, HTML, and CSS.
  • After the course is over, you'll easily be able to study any programming language of your choice.
  • Explore the different tracks of computer science, such as data science, web development, cybersecurity, and digital arts.

What You Will Learn

The course is split into three phases, each of which is one month long.

Phase One: Essentials

In this phase, we will cover the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, such as:

  • Understanding what the components of computers are and how they work.
  • Understanding what makes up a computer program.
  • Understanding what variables, selections, and loops are and how we use them to make computer programs.
  • How computers understand and represent data using real-life examples.
  • Introduction to networks.

This phase of the course is essential to ensuring the young learners possess what they need to crush phases two and three of the course.

Phase Two: Programming

In this phase, we'll start applying what we learned to create real-life programs and applications. We'll cover the following:

  • Using what we learned in phase one to build programs and mobile applications using no-code platforms.
  • A good introduction to programming with Python.

The goal of phase two is to make sure the learners have a good grasp of how programming logic works and how to create their own programs. It would also allow them to easily break into any programming language they choose later on.

Phase Three: Quest

In this phase, learners will be introduced to four trending fields in computer science, which are:

  • Web development using HTML and CSS.
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data Science

This phase will be mostly practical; we'll learn about each field, and then learners will do their own practical application of the concepts taught.

The goal of this phase is to introduce learners to the different fields of computer science so they can understand what it takes to work in each particular field.
